During my awakening towards life, and education. I haven’t found enough time to create content to better my online presence. This driven me to completely become diverted from everything online and have my family and friends distract me. I apologize. I will try to diversify the information I provide and try to include various topics involved in technology. I would love to review the new Forza 5 game, actually I just wanna play it. But finding an XBOX ONE is hard enough. I don’t see the point of exclusivity, if that’s a word, because it will eventually become ported over or it would become a fail for the game developers. I personally have nothing against PS4 but I do like to be apart of a consistent eco-system and I think Microsoft brought that to a whole new level allowing everything to communicate seamlessly to other devices.

500th view!

I haven’t updated in a while been busy with college and stuff. I couldn’t however not congratulate the 500 people who visited my page, and I am deciding to make this an official site by hosting it on the WordPress platform with it’s own domain. This can help me to monetize my work and bring more exciting content to the site as this sub-domain is limited. I will also be making YouTube videos as I have stated before and you will find the videos on the new site.  To not continue blagging about me I will let the 500 of you to decide the content of my videos.

What now for Blackberry?

Owning Blackberry smartphones and tablets I feel like I was scammed in such a way. Much like the HP’s TouchPad downfall Blackberry may soon have to spin off its few remaining valuables. For example BBM was set off to become a semi-independent company, hence the launch for Android and iOS. This separation was caused after the introduction of the iPhone in 2007. This changed the landscape of mobile phones, for better and worse. The introduction of the iPhone was great news for Apple but market leaders at the time, such as Nokia and the more government/business based Blackberry. They have seen massive stock drops and I don’t think they ever went up from the down slide. Nokia, being a fantastic hardware maker (as explained here)

The above image shows the percentage of the mobile operating systems market share. This shows how popular the manufacturers devices are and how the compare to other OS’s market share. The market share may be small however that doesn’t necessarily mean the company isn’t selling anything. Nokia is still selling more the Apple’s iPhone. In fact many companies are selling more than Apple however there isn’t the same demand for such phones.

Now for Blackberry. Blackberry is now for sale, yes for sale! With just a little bit more than £80m you can own the whole of Blackberry. There still is no buyer at the moment but that may change for the better. This can maybe result in Android-powered Blackberry smartphones. It would be something to look forward to however for the time being, I would really appreciate an update for my Playbook. 🙂

I had a dream *CanadianPronunciation* about  Kick Ass 2

Disclaimer: This is not a movie review.

I just watched Kick-Ass 2. I feel like punching somebody that punched somebody not because he punched somebody but i want to punch somebody that punches people. Makes sense right?

So, as i was saying. After watching Kick Ass 2 and seeing a Mother Fucker try to rape Night Bitch but decides to be a mother fucker instead. It had me wondering, how cheap are  costumes  these days and criminals aren’t really tough anymore. Why can’t I assemble a team of ripped Russian women, cannibal freaks and rapists?

There’s not really that much people that fight crime anyway so I could get away with vandalizing a few cars and causing quite mayhem because after 9pm most children are asleep. I would control the whole gang, make a bust from my head for them to rub before they leave. Do some psychotic gangster shit because I am, literally, the Mother Fucker.

300th HIT!

In less than 20 days from my hundredth hit I peaked down to the Blog Stats widget to find that over 300 people have visited my blog. Being only active for about a month and having hundreds view it and have positive comment I genuinely thought I would struggle to make more than hundred views in a month but the amount I have now gave me more motivation to continue updating this blog more frequently. Gracias!

For my videos I will have to find the time. I cant juggle all my course works, daily chores, (new) blogging, together but hopefully you’ll see me in the near future 🙂

The 6 Most Shockingly Irresponsible “Fitspiration” Photos

Reading this every time time I postpone to purchase a gym membership.

The Reembody blog, up to this point, has been a thoughtful exploration of human movement, a subject about which I am extremely passionate.

Today, however, I’m mad and I’m going to tell you why.

I have been planning a blog post for a while on fitness misinformation, and it was originally going to be the same kind of thoughtful deconstruction found in my other installments. But then I read this and it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever found in my newsfeed: so beautiful, in fact, that the rest of the health and fitness propaganda floating around Facebook like turds in a pool started to really, really piss me off.

So thoughtful deconstruction has been postponed for another day. Instead, we’re going to take a good look at a few of those turds and get pissed off together because, when someone preys upon your insecurities in an effort…

HP TouchPad lives on… As Android or Ubuntu.

The incredibly popular, but unlucky, HP TouchPad has been discontinued. The company announced it would no longer sell any of their WebOS products, including the Palm series as well. The HP TouchPad was decently equipped with good specs. The HP TouchPad has incredible specs for the price point it is currently in. The specifications include CPU: 1.2GHz (DUAL) Qualcomm. GPU: Adreno 220. Display: 9.7 @ 1024*768 (132ppi). Memory: 16/32 GB (1GB RAM). All the above package for an astonishingly cheap $99.

The device was sold out in almost every shop selling it for the $99 price mark. It quickly became the best-selling tablet on Amazon and other retailers. With specs like that of the TouchPad and a price of only $99 anyone who knew anything about technology broke their piggy banks to snatch up the device before another one did. HP discontinued support for the new and loved operating system. Mainly because the pressure and competition from Apple and Android could not allow for a new comer to capture the consumers. However with the hardware giant’s blessing you can manipulate your device, if you can get one that is. You can breathe new life into it allowing for another system to call your TouchPad home. However the amount of systems with that privilege are few and currently, if any make it out of beta. These include the popular Android OS and the also new Ubuntu for tablets. Ubuntu’s attempt in the mobile world.

Developer Support

Thanks to the increase in sales and popularity the developer community have now begun work on the TouchPad reviving it from the inevitable doom of WebOS, which was however available for licensing. The device attracted the likes of Cyanogen Mod developers, which are famous for creating official nexus-like ROMs for devices with custom skins e.g. Samsung. The have now allowed for TouchPad users to be able to install Android into their devices. Other developers have taken the Ubuntu for tablets to the HP device allowing to run more systems than the unsupported WebOS. The XDA forum has also welcomed the tablet with new applications and tools to allow for a seamless and simple install of the Android system or the Ubuntu system. It will take quite a while for the developers to work on it and release stable releases of system updates and support. However it looks now that the community may be the only hope of restoring the Touchpad’s life as it says goodbye to WebOS.

Bugs and fixes

Ubuntu for tablets is in beta and may not function fully on the HP TouchPad disabling some settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Android for the HP TouchPad also started off buggy with only a handful of features working on the device. In later releases such as that of Cyanogen Mod 9 you can see the tablet running the YouTube application natively. There is, as stated above, a large community supporting the HP TouchPad and allowing for more functionality to come out of the device. One stride in the importing of Android is that now all the hardware works seamlessly with the software including the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gyroscope, etc. There are demos on how the device functions after the Android installation has been completed. For the wary first-timers who wouldn’t want to damage their device.

Worth it?

The HP TouchPad is a great device and it only gets better the more you play with it. The WebOS system may become discontinued but that doesn’t mean the applications and services already running won’t function. There are many benefits from “upgrading” to either Ubuntu or Android however there are equal amounts of disadvantages namely, bricking your device (failing the installation leaving your device to become worthless). You can use the web browser as normal and go on about your day being able to browse your Facebook and Twitter while watching YouTube only not in a well-built native app. In summary if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it.

The Apple announcement!

There have been quite the buzz recently on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ (who even uses it?) and it was trending, till now. I have been following the news coverage and I seem to actually like the new iPhones (BTW I own a few androids). In this post am going to go into a bit more detail from both phones and hopefully distinguish them enough for you to pick a side (#teamJACOB <- example)

iPhone 5C

The iPhone 5C is a well designed handset made from plastic (so what?) it has a steel reinforcement making it feel more durable. The new 5C has a polycarbonate plastic (same as on the Nokia’s Lumia devices) and if you phone happens to fall to the ground and scratch or something, it will hardly be visible as it look the same through the whole back. With these new additions the 5C will feel a tad bit heavier than the iPhone 5.

In comparison to the iPhone 5 the new 5C has nothing new apart from the polycarbonate back, HD front-facing camera capable of FaceTime HD. And… Yeah no 64GB model. You have to get 5S for that. Speaking of the…

iPhone 5S

It has been internally reconfigured and redesigned. This means there will be faster chips, more components, etc. There is no improvement to the display of the 5C and 5S. They retain the ‘Retina’ display using the 1136*640 (326ppi) this means the iPhone 5S may look exactly like the previous iPhone 5 if you have chosen the White. There are no more Black/Slate option as it was favored for the Space Grey and the new Gold. Processor within the 5S has been completely redone. The new Apple A7 chip uses 64bit architecture, similar to many new PCs. This enables apps and games to become even more detailed and graphic intensive. The apps have become backward compatible so your Instagram won’t crash before your food gets cold.

Touch ID

This is the new addition to the Apple iPhone 5S as it allows you to use only you fingerprint as a password. Again /(O.O)\ WHAT?!  Apple hopes it will eradicate passwords and make them a thing of the past as the 5S pioneers this type of technology to the mobile world. Some fear the software may not recognize them or it a bug was to happen you can effectively become locked out of your iPhone. Its reminiscent of Google’s face unlock attempt which didn’t really catch on.

The new iOS has been redesigned as Scott departed the company. Johnny (Ive and I are on first name basis :P) has gone for a flatter, more modern, design. Personally I agree. The new design was long overdue and the functionality of control centre and notifications may be limited however it will be greatly used.

iTunes Fest

As i have recently found out, the iTunes festival is free. Where on Earth was I when it got sold out? 20 million people applied for the tickets for the month long festival currently held in London. Famous artists such as Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga also Ellie Goulding would be attending. Hopefully next time I get to go in.

Hundred Hits!

It may not sound like much but in less than a month I have just over a hundred hits. /(O.O)\ WHAT?!

I never thought anyone would have ever read this. But I have a few followers, some likes and visitors from over seven countries (inc. 4 continents). I guess i am grateful for the internet recognizing my small blog but I wont stop until I have reached everyones monitor. Including Australia. Below you can see the countries where I am now ‘the blog to see’.

Anyway thanks for visiting, and referring (if you haven’t you should!)
